Lift up your voices: open letters to Al Gore
Fri Oct 12, 2007 at 10:34:39 AM PDT
I sent the following this morning. I urge all of you who have been hoping for a Gore run to put your thoughts down and do the same. Petitions are not enough. Write. Contribute. Volunteer for the ballot efforts.
It is time to run Mr. Vice-President. I know you want nothing more than to devote your full attention to the climate crisis, but the best way to approach the problem is from the place where you can exert the greatest force for positive change. The office of President is like no other. It is a force multiplier in the right hands: offering the opportunity to wake a sleeping giant.

Peak Oil and Global Warming hit the MSM
Fri Jul 08, 2005 at 07:49:05 PM PDT
The Discovery Channel is currently (19:00-20:00 pacific) running an episode of "Modern Marvels" entitled "Doomsday Tech." While the first third focused on nuclear war and proliferation, they have just begun a segment on the doomsday potential of our dependency on fossil fuel and the "established problem" of global climate change.
Breaking News: Rhenquist Hospitalized
Mon Oct 25, 2004 at 10:11:47 AM PDT
Chief Justice Rhenquist has been Hospitalized in MD for Thyroid Cancer. He underwent a Tracheotomy and is being treated for the cancer in Bethesda Naval Hospital. He is expected to return to work when SCOTUS resumes the October Term next week. This is the perfect issue to draw attention to the appointments issue. Rhenquist has stated that he wished to retire under a Republican Administration, but has not done so despite other health problems with his back that force him to leave leave the bench during oral arguments to relieve his pain. IMHO, Bush is not the republican he wants to retire under, and this creates a clear and present opportunity for a shift in the ideology of the court under a Kerry Administration. The meme needs to be sculpted and circulated. Go to it.
